PADI Junior Open Water Diver

The PADI Junior Open Water course is for children from 10 to 14 years old who really want to learn to dive. If your child is a real watterrat and an avid snorkeler, or was that Bubblemaker last holiday the best experience ever, then your child is ready for the PADI Junior Open Water course.

In terms of theory, confined water sessions, and open water dives, this course is identical to the Open Water course. So it is a serious but also fun course. In other words: a seriously fun course! We teach your child everything about water pressure, buoyancy, diving equipment, breathing compressed air, descending and taking off and much more. We turn your child into a real diver!

The difference between the Junior Open Water course and the Open Water course for adults lies in two details: a Junior Open Water diver of 10 or 11 years old may only dive up to 12 meters and only under the supervision of a dive professional (divemaster or instructor) and/or a dive-certified parent or guardian. A Junior Open Water diver of 12, 13 or 14 years old may dive to 18 meters but only accompanied by an adult certified diver.

When your child turns 15, the Junior certification automatically equals a regular Open Water certification. If desired, a new certification card can be requested.
