PADI Lionfish Hunter

Lionfish is an invasive species in the Caribbean; They have no natural enemies and an insatiable hunger for young fish in particular and are therefore harmful to the ecosystem of the local coral reef.

This specialty course is a unique Caribbean course, and is officially called Invasive Lionfish Tracker Diver; It was originally intended to only track and report the spread of the lionfish, but what we’re actually doing is hunting this invasive species.

You will learn the facts and history of the lionfish, about its poisonous spines and what to do if you are accidentally stung. Of course, we also teach you how to avoid being stung by using good trimming techniques and carefully handling the pole spear (also called Hawaiian sling) and the zookeeper.

At the end of the course, we will also teach you how to clean and cook your catch of the day. There is no such thing as fairer fish and fresher fish than this!
